It’s been almost a year (!) since I last checked in and let everyone know how Zen Method is shaping up as pandemic restrictions wind down. When the almighty “they” tell you that you don’t know until you know - they aren’t kidding.
While earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and plotting and planning for another possible 5-7 YEARS of schooling, I came to the flashing red light conclusion that it was not ultimately what I wanted to do with my time this go around.
It was hard, I mourned with every decision the sense of potential accomplishment even entertaining the ambition of going all the way through academia gave me. Ultimately, I realized I don’t want to be a licensed therapist, that is detached from my goals and how I relate to and help people. I want to bridge the gap from therapy work to real life practices. I am excited to be the person that helps others unlearn unhelpful habits and relearn how to approach their spaces and their habits differently to live a more fulfilled life.
I was already doing that.
Although restarting a business in a new place with a different culture is daunting and intimidating, I know how far my resourcefulness, creativity and skills can go when thrown into the fire - I thrive.
So with my shiny new Bachelor’s Degree in hand, I have decided to take the summer of 2022 doing what my family and I could not do over the past two years ago due to the pandemic, while doing free consultations to start booking for the Autumn Season starting on September 1st 2022.
The lessons I've learned stretch so much further than textbooks, research papers, final exams and a piece of paper in a frame. I've learned to be an informed, research literate individual, the many facets of how people find their lives unmanageable, and how to best help them approach more meaningful recovery and processing. I fully intend on passing those lessons to my clients and using my expanded knowledge and understanding of human psychology to help guide them on whatever path they choose to travel.
Thanks for sticking with me over the past two years, Zen Methodologists, I'm starting the engine and getting integrated into our new surroundings with plans to be nice and warmed up for September sessions.
In the meantime, take our survey, book a free consultation, and see if you may just need a Zen Method in your life.
Keep living in the light y’all,
Zen Method Huntsville
